Single-Use Nasopharyngeal Airway

Main Indications
Nasopharyngeal Airway (NPA) is a common disposable device for upper airway management. Its main uses:
- Relieve upper airway obstruction caused by unconsciousness and tongue retroposition, improve ventilation and oxygenation;
- Suitable for patients with trismus or limited mouth opening who cannot use oropharyngeal airway;
- Maintain airway patency for spontaneously breathing patients during anesthesia, ICU care and emergency treatment;
- Provide temporary airway support for oxygen therapy, bag-valve-mask ventilation, pre-hospital first aid and patient transfer.

Specifications
It is divided into various models according to the inner diameter to adapt to different groups of people. Common specifications (inner diameter): adult 6.0mm, 7.0mm, 8.0mm; children 4.0mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm; infants 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm. The length increases with the inner diameter, and the appropriate model can be selected according to the patient's age and nasopharyngeal condition.

Indicated Population
Applicable to patients with upper airway obstruction caused by unconsciousness and tongue retroposition; patients with trismus and difficulty opening mouth who cannot place oropharyngeal airway; patients who need to maintain airway patency after anesthesia induction and postoperative recovery; spontaneously breathing patients who need temporary ventilation support in ICU, emergency department and pre-hospital first aid; not applicable to patients with nasopharyngeal malformation, severe bleeding, fracture and severe edema.

Material
Made of medical-grade soft materials, common materials are medical PVC or silicone. The material is soft with good biocompatibility, which can reduce irritation to the nasopharyngeal mucosa, avoid damage to nasopharyngeal tissues, and has certain toughness, not easy to break, suitable for long-term or temporary clinical use.
